The Intergovernmental/Communications Office
develops
and
implements
the
City’s
master
communications
plan,
serves
as the
primary
media
contact
and
coordinates
the
public
information
component
for
the
City.
The
office
issues
press
releases,
coordinates
crisis
communication
elements,
updates
and
maintains
the
City’s
website,
maintains
a current
media-clip
archive,
researches
grant
opportunities
and
completes
grant
applications.
Working
closely
with
senior
management,
the
office
designs
and
distributes
outreach
materials.
The Director of Intergovernmental/Community Relations
coordinates
involvement
with
other
Valley-wide
agencies,
serves
as the
City’s Senior
Administrative
Analyst
for
special
projects
and
answers
general
inquiries
and
complaints.
In
addition,
the
Office
oversees the contract for film services. Currently provided by the Inland Empire Film Commission, duties include promoting
and
facilitating
the
production
of films,
television,
commercials
and
still
photography
in Big
Bear
Lake
and
the
surrounding
Valley.
Services
provided
include
location
scouting;
coordinating
with
production
companies,
the
community
and
various
agencies;
processing
permits;
publishing
an annual
production
guide
and
maintaining
a location
photo
library.
