REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)

PROJECT:  OVERHEAD MONUMENT SIGN PROJECT

The City of Big Bear Lake is seeking sealed proposals from qualified firms and/or groups for the Overhead Monument Sign Project, which will consist of constructing new overhead monument signs at the intersection of Big Bear Blvd. and Talbot Drive located on the west side of Big Bear Lake and Division Drive on the east side of Big Bear Lake approximately 800 feet westerly of Division Drive on Big Bear Blvd.  The scope of work will include providing new reinforced concrete foundations with anchor bolts; providing new steel columns and trusses with anti-rust coating; attaching wood signage (specific wood signs by others) to steel trusses; providing and attaching wood treatments (split logs and other lumber by contractor) over-laid to steel columns and trusses; providing and apply stain, paint finishes and protective coatings; and install decorative rock veneer to base of each column.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS:  2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014.  Mailed bids should be addressed Attn: City Clerk, City of Big Bear Lake, P.O. Box 10000 Big Bear Lake, CA 92315, and include a reference to: CITY OF BIG BEAR LAKE OVERHEAD MONUMENT SIGN PROJECT.

A recommended, but not mandatory, pre-bid meeting and job walk shall be held at the job site located in the public right-of-way at Post Mile 52.50 on Hwy 18, Big Bear Blvd. approx. 800 ft. westerly of Division Drive, Big Bear Lake, California, ("Big Bear Snow Play"), on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 starting at 10:00 a.m.

Contract Documents, including drawings and specifications, may be examined at City Hall, located at 39707 Big Bear Blvd. in Big Bear Lake, CA 92315, (909) 866-5831. They may also be purchased in hard copy at the above location upon payment of a non-refundable charge of $40.00 for each set.  An additional non-refundable charge of $25.00 to cover delivery and handling will be required for each set of Contract Documents mailed unless the recepient provides a preferred prepaid shipping account number.

Please note Addendums may be issued for this project.  In order to be placed on a contact list to be notified if Addendums are issued, please contact the Engineering Division by telephone at (909) 866-5831.  The Bidder is responsible for submitting all applicable Addendums.

PROJECT:    TRANSIENT PRIVATE HOME RENTAL INSPECTION SERVICES

The City of Big Bear Lake reserves the right to reject any and all proposals to waive minor irregularities, to accept any proposal or portion thereof, and to take all proposals under advisement for a period of ninety (90) days.  No bid surety is required.

The City of Big Bear Lake hereby notifies all proposers that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit proposals in response to this invitation an dwill not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for the award.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS:  1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014.  Sealed proposals will be received at City Hall by the Office of the City Clerk, 39707 Big Bear Blvd. Big Bear Lake, CA 92315.  Mailed proposals can be sent to P.O. Box 10000, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315 (US Mail) or delivery by FedEX/UPS at our physical address, 39707 Big Bear Blvd. Big Bear Lake, CA 92315.  Sealed proposals mailed or hand delivered must be received by the deadline date and time.
