BIG
BEAR
LAKE,
CA – At
a special
workshop
held
on February
26,
Big
Bear
Lake
City
Council
revised
the
City’s
mission
and
subsequent
goals
to better
reflect
the
current
needs
of the
community
and
provide
for
a long-term
vision.
With
Rick
Herrick
and
Michael
Karp
recently
being
elected
to Council
in November
2006,
the
workshop
provided
an opportunity
for
an exchange
of new
input
and
ideas.
This
was
the
first
time
the
Council
looked
at making
changes
to the
goals
since
their
original
adoption
in 2000.
Prior
goals
focused
more
on day-to-day
operational
activities,
whereas
the
revised
take
a much
broader
approach
on supplementing
a long-term
vision
and
future
direction
for
the
City.
Mayor
Bill
Jahn
stated “We
are
extremely
pleased
with
the
revised
goals.
Staff
can
handle
day-to-day
operations,
but
the
Council
will
continue
to make
long-range
planning
a priority
for
this
community.”
