BIG
BEAR
LAKE,
CA – At
their
regular
meeting
on March
26,
Big
Bear
Lake
City
Council
appointed
Bill
Giamarino
to the
DWP
Board
of Commissioners,
effective
immediately.
His
term
is set
to expire
on June
30,
2011.
Giamarino’s
appointment
comes
on the
heels
of a
vacancy
left
when
former
DWP
Chairman
Rick
Herrick
was
elected
to City
Council
this
past
November.
Herrick’s
term
was
set
to end
on June
30,
2007.
Giamarino
will
finish
the
remainder
of that
term,
in addition
to serving
his
own
for
another
four
years.
Giamarino
was
selected
amongst
a pool
of six
applicants.
A resident
of Big
Bear
Lake,
he brings
a substantial
background
in the
healthcare
industry
and
over
35 years
experience
in group
management
and
development
activities.
When
asked
about
his
qualifications
for
the
position,
Giamarino
stated “Throughout
my career,
I have
been
able
to focus
on the
real
issue
at hand,
assess
and
determine
the
appropriate
course
of action,
and
with
help
from
those
in opposition,
remedy
the
problem.”
The
City
of Big
Bear
Lake
is a
four-season
resort
located
in the
heart
of the
San
Bernardino
National
Forest,
approximately
30 miles
northeast
of San
Bernardino.
The
City
serves
a population
of 6,500
residents
and
covers
a 6.95
square
mile
area
on the
west
end
of Big
Bear
Lake’s
south
shore.
