Spaces available for Master Composting Class – Free Registration
BIG BEAR LAKE, CA – Spaces are still available for a FREE Master Composting Class, on Saturday, July 28, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Department of Water & Power (DWP). DWP is located at 41972 Garstin Drive. Sponsored by the City of Big Bear Lake and the Mojave Desert and Mountain Master Composters, eight hours of training will be provided. Attendees will learn how composting works and receive information on:
• Greencycling options
• Uses for fresh mulch and composted greenwaste
• Vermicomposting (worms)
• Container gardening
• Native plants & water conservation
In addition, this class offers the opportunity to meet and network with other local garden enthusiasts. This workshop is open to all Bear Valley residents and pre-registration is required by calling (909) 866-5831, x 138 or e-mail jheule@citybigbearlake.com. Early registrants can win a FREE composting bin.
