The Big Bear Lake Improvement Agency (IA) pays debt service on bonds issued and provides for administrative support to analyze the needs of the community to develop and implement programs, including low-to-moderate housing.  The IA is comprised of Improvement Plans.  Goals include to improving, upgrading and revitalizing all areas of the City and in particular, those which have become blighted.  To accomplish this, specific objectives include improving the overall appearance of streets and other facilities; ensuring safety of buildings; providing required public improvements to support new private construction; mitigating development limitations and providing adequate utilities and public facilities.  One of the primary goals is to help support the community by providing affordable housing.
