The Management Services Department is made up of the following distinct divisions:

City Clerk's Office/Communications

The City Clerk of the City of Big Bear Lake serves as a liaison between the public and the City Council and is the local official who administers democratic processes such as elections, local legislative actions, and access to City records, ensuring transparency to the public. Human Resources

The Human Resources Department works jointly as a strategic partner with all City departments. It has the primary role of supporting the City of Big Bear Lake organization by providing services related to human resources management. Information Technology (IT)

The Information Technology (IT) Division partners with all City departments and divisions to support the City's business operations and strategic plans through the application of effective and efficient technology. Visit the Information Technology page for additional information.


Neighborhood Preservation

The Code Compliance Division is responsible for the enforcement of certain health and safety regulations as well as the ongoing maintenance and consistent use of private property throughout the City through the education and enforcement of City property maintenance codes, inoperative vehicle abatement codes, and a variety of zoning codes which cover land use, signs, and development standards. Code Compliance also assists Animal Control, Fire, Police, Building, and various other City departments in the interpretation and enforcement of various municipal codes. Performing Arts Center (PAC)

Risk Management

The Risk Management division provides risk assessments and risk mitigation, coordinates safety training and safety inspections, and administers the City's liability claims. Visit the Risk Management page for more information.


Vacation Rental Program Registration/Administration

The Vacation Rental Program is managed by the Tourism Management Department personnel. Staff members oversee the entire registration process including the inspection and renewal processes and ensure that all properties are in compliance with City ordinances and expectations.
