Mayor Pro Tem Bill Jahn was first elected to the Big Bear Lake City Council in 2004, re-elected in 2008, 2012, and again in 2016. He is in his first new term as Mayor, and also serves as Chairman of the Oversight Board of the Successor Agency to the Big Bear Lake Improvement Agency. In addition to his service on City Council, Bill serves on several boards and committees including Director of the Big Bear Fire Authority, San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG), and District 11 Representative for the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). Bill previously served as Mayor for two consecutive years, Mayor Pro Tem for two consecutive terms, as well as Chairman of the Big Bear Lake Improvement Agency, and as a Planning Commissioner.
Bill is Executive Vice President of the Northridge Group, Inc. and President of Bilmar Construction Company. He has over twenty-five years of successful experience in the building industry; he is well versed in land development, construction and construction management. Bill’s background also includes stints of service on the Chino City Council and Governor Deukmejian’s appointee to the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board. He has also served on the Southern California Building Industry Association (BIA) Board, including President of the Baldy View BIA Chapter.
Bill and his wife, Mary Jo, live in Big Bear Lake.
