The City of Big Bear Lake is committed to attracting viable businesses and expanding the current business community by providing an easy and simple licensing process. The City of Big Bear Lake requires all persons who conduct any business, trade, profession, calling, or occupation in the City to obtain a license whether or not the physical address of the business is in or outside the City limits.

Business License Requirements
- Owners of businesses located within the City limits will need approval from our Planning Division. Planning will verify that the zoning of the property allows for the business in question.
- Businesses must have a physical address, P.O. Box and mail collection services can only be used as mailing addresses.
- Separate licenses must be obtained for each branch establishment or separate place of business.
- Not all "At-home" businesses are allowed. You must apply for a Home Occupation Permit if you plan to operate out of your residence. Additional forms may be required depending on the nature of your proposed business.
- Business licenses must be posted or exhibited in a conspicuous place at the business location.
