Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) & BBLTBID
Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) and the Big Bear Lake Tourism Business Improvement District assessment (BBLTBID) is managed by the Management Services personnel. TOT and BBLTBID are remitted by the owner/operator to the City on a monthly basis. TOT is a tax levied on visitors renting overnight accommodations on a short-term basis, and BBLTBID assessments are collected and passed-through to the City’s tourism bureau, Visit Big Bear, as a funding mechanism used to provide a specific benefit (e.g., marketing) to assessed businesses. BBLTBID Assessments are collected from short-term overnight accommodations, and lift tickets and annual pass sales at Big Bear Mountain Resorts. Visit the TOT / BBLTBID page for additional information.
Vacation Rental Program Registration/Administration
The Vacation Rental Program is managed by the Management Services personnel. Staff members oversee the entire registration process including the inspection and renewal processes and ensure that all properties are in compliance with City ordinances and expectations. Visit the Vacation Rental Program page for additional information.
